I think at least in the Arkhamverse it's implied that Slaughter Swamp changed Cyrus Gold into Grundy cause of leaking Lazarus Pit runoff. Not sure if the same applies in Prime DC canon.

I just always mentally handwaved it as "swamp magic".

That's vague enough that you could add just about anything to it for flavor while being enough of an explanation by itself to satisfy most people.

Plus even if I do look it up it might change next week.

Is Swamp Thing Alec Holland or the thing that ate him?

Does it really matter?

Either way, he's a plant elemental with Alec's memories.

Originally, I believe it was indeed due to chemicals being dumped into the swamp since it right near where Rex Taylor worked. Grundy once captured Alan Scott and stuck him into the swamp, turning him into Alan Grundy. Solomon Scott?

I've really been liking this run. It's great having Wally and his whole family back. It's delightful to see this sort of content.

I'm even starting to like Wallace, even though I still find it kinda weird that he's also a Kid Flash named Wally (Wallace).

At least the other Hal Jordan had the decency to go by Air Wave.

Poor Air Wave has never ever gotten the respect or appreciation he deserves for being a super hero who... *checks notes* roller skates on telephone lines.

I kid, I kid, that was the Golden Age version. I know Harold is his son (originally)/ descendant (currently). I like how writers apparently went "Well, the GA Air Wave's last name was Jordan so he's related to Hal Jordan."

On a side note, I also love that apparently, Black Lightning's ex-wife Lynn Stewart Pierce is Green Lantern John Stewart's sister in the Young Justice continuity, based on BL creator Tony Isabella's unfulfilled intention to connect Lynn and John originally.

I mean, "Stewart" is a common enough name but I guess I can give it a pass if that was Isabella's intent.

If it were anyone else it would feel like "Byrne says Green Goblin and Sandman have to be related now because of the hair"

It does kill me that they keep introducing new characters named "Detective Jim Corrigan" or whatever as if that won't cause confusion. I'm sure there are others I'm drawing a blank on but that's the one that sprang to mind.

Well, that and Carter Hall/Katar Hol Hawkman but there are additional problems there.

At least Kent V. Nelson has had the courtesy to not show up again in recent years so far as I'm aware.

I assume the Jim Corrigan's are different cops with the same name. Golden Age Corrigan was briefly replaced by Hal Jordan but that wasn't a long enough period of inactivity for him to become Gotham Central Corrigan.

Also they seem to be pretty different people. The GA version is an embodiment of wrath (at least once he becomes the Angel of Vengeance) and the GC character is more of a "greed" guy.

It's really only a matter of time before some maniac comes along and says Adeline Kane (Deathstroke's wife) is connected to that other bunch of people in DC called Kane.
Thereby tying in Batman and Batwoman to the hideous mess that is the Wilson family...

Frankly, it's a little amazing no-one's done it already.

In comic books, all people with the same last name are related, regardless of ethnicity.

This is how they connected the Golden Age hero "Speed" Saunders to Hawkgirl (Shiera Sanders Hall)(even though the spelling isn't exact) and then Hawkgirl (Kendra Saunders).

But, surprisingly, not Greg "Vigilante" Sanders.

I, personally, loved his Scooby-Doo work, but I do know Return to Zombie Island is contentous.

As it should be. Zombie Island ended with the curse being broken and the zombies rotting away. There should be no zombies left. The corpses are dust.
