Tim Sale’s official twitter has posted that the artist passed away at the age of 66.

Well, that's sad news! Tim Sale was an excellent - and very distinct - artist. I remember watching Heroes and recognizing the artwork as his, because his style was just so much his own.

(I know George Pérez is only a year older but he had a pretty public battle with cancer so I don't think anyone was surprised.)

I didn't even know Sale was having health issues until a couple days ago.

RIP Tim Sale, your distinctive style was always memorable, and your version of teeny tiny little Robin was amazing!





I was astonished to realise that Batman: The Long Halloween, is now 26 years old, and Dark Victory 23 years old!

Tim Sale's "take" on Two-Face obviously was an influence on Two-Face's appearance in "The Dark Knight." Sale might be the first one to draw Two-Face as half bald.

Such a distinctive artist with his own voice. The last few years have been hard on artists with their own incomparable styles. I know nothing about him as a person, but it's such a young age and I'll miss his work badly.
