She was one of the more popular characters introduced in "Wolverine and the X-Men", and then joined the second "Generation X", so yes, I believe she did.
Someone needs to tell Nature Girl what "Armageddon" means. It doesn't mean "fix the planet" or "wipe out a singular species". It won't be death on demand, it will be death unrelenting.
Are the news report panels a "imagine what would happen" dream sequence? Because I'm pretty sure blowing up the moon is a big deal with ramifications across the entire Marvel line.
Not to mention it would cause an ecological disaster, which strikes me as against Nature Girl's warped ideology.
"we saw the moon explode... but it got fixed. Just another traumatic Tuesday, am I right Jerry?"
"That you are, Susan. And now... the traffic report. You'll want to avoid I-66 west as Iron Man is fighting Whiplash outside of DC and there's a bit of a backup..."
"The government has released a statement that everything is fine, except for all the giant chunks of moonrock everywhere, which they say "will probably go away after a while"."
Oh lord, is Cypher about to explain how sending those two out in the world to be terrorists was actually the moral and defensible thing to do? How many characters can one author damage?
I mean, Krakoa and Cypher clearly believe that, as they did release them, so they'd be on sort of on thin ice there already if they changed their stance.
Doug has made his and Krakoa's dis-satisfaction with the only penal option on Krakoa being "We don't have prisons, so we throw all lawbreakers into a sunless pit to stagnate in a sort of coma, with no extenuating circumstances accounted for or rehabilitation offered" clear on more than one occasion.
Of course, given that Cypher and Krakoa also oversaw the attempted rehabilitation of Sabretooth (which didn't end well), maybe penal reform is not their strong suit.
I may be mis-remembering, but I thought the release was more Krakoa than Doug? Doug was just explaining Krakoa's decision? Inscrutable sentient life-sucking island ecosystem being cool with sending murderers out to do murders seems a lot more reasonable to me than it being Doug.
Doug is obviously right to oppose the pit, I just can't believe he would think that sending those two out to continue murdering was both better and the only alternative
I think you are right that it was Krakoa's idea to release them, but Doug did go along with it when we know Doug has no problem speaking out about things he doesn't agree with, or offering alternatives.
I will definitely be interested in what he has to say on the topic.
DOUG: Krakoa and I decided taking a murderous terrorist who controls natures and hooking her into the brain of the giant piece of nature we all live on was a really stupid idea.
XAVIER: Then why didn't you say anything?
DOUG: I did! Repeatedly! But you didn't listen, any more than you did when I warned you about Sabretooth!
XAVIER: How was I supposed to know his mind was active and connecting with Krakoa and the other prisoners?
Doug makes a lot of poor decisions. He also didn't let Mystique and Destiny kill Moira. That would have been the end of it. Kill her and launch her corpse into the sea. Nobody would have known about it.
It's wild that one thing every writer seems to be taking from the Hickman era is to just not have characters be held accountable for anything, ever, not even to themselves. Everyone seems to know Moira's with ORCHIS now, and Doug doesn't for a *second* feel like that might be on him for letting her go. Because on Krakoa everyone is always right.
In the Marvel universe, crackpots refuse to believe aliens would blow up the moon.
Also, for a super-secret traitor, Abigail Brand sure is hanging out openly with Orchis. Feels like if and when the X-Men find out she's turned on them the dialogues going to be: "Abigail? But... how did we not notice?" "Do you know I've genuinely no idea?"

But an environmental freedom group?
