Adam's someone I keep coming back to. Actually, the only reason I step away from him is because I want to see what other writers do, and it was nice to see him made use of in the recent Doctor Doom comic written by Christopher Cantwell, for example. To answer the question... Dr. Adam Brashear is a super-scientist with a history of exploring cosmic strangeness, power on a par with the Silver Surfer at least, and a tendency to have adventures outside the spotlight. To me, that's not just a worthy addition to the Defenders, that's the new leader of the Defenders. -- Al Ewing

Al Ewing is not going to be rude enough to outright, straight-up retcon away another writer's work at the first opportunity. I'm sure we'll get to it eventually, but not right out of the gate.

I love how very over all this craziness Dr. Brashear is. I also love that Ewing has more or less gotten "Dr. Brashear" to take precedence over "Blue Marvel" since he started featuring the character back in Mighty Avengers.

I do love that A) Blue Marvel and Night Thrasher apparently hang out, and B) Night Thrasher figured out who Masked Raider was.
