Idie is hard work. And she has a direct, channeling power to her. I mean, when I tapped out, "I won't burn in this world. I'll burn in the next" for issue #5, I found myself sort of blinking at my screen and thinking both "Where did that come from?" and, "Girl, you scare me." In other words, I'll miss writing her. But I suspect the people around me in the life are glad they don't have to deal with me slumping around the house, depressed, after I've had to write her. -- Kieron Gillen

It's not out of character for Idie to be consistently painting herself in the worst light. "They're right to kill us, because we're monsters. Fighting back just makes us worse."

Mostly, yeah:

Hope helped fix M-Day in AvX and then vanished except for a weird plot point in X-Force where she was impersonating another mutant to spend time with her dad. Krakoa made her important again.

Idie joined the cast of Wolverine and the X-Men, hung out with X-Men Blue, and recently was tossed into The Pit in Krakoa for some more human killing.

Teon, Gabriel, and Laurie are all reduced to background characters, saving Gabe being one of the many mutants to die in the lead up to Krakoa.

Way back when, I compared Idie's "Is there anyone else I need to kill" to a line from the movie Broken Arrow.

"I just realized something. I never actually killed anyone before. I mean, I dropped bombs on Baghdad, but, uh... never face to face. I don't know what the big deal is. I really don't."

It feels like Idie's powers get oversimplified into "she has hot and cold powers" instead of the more complicated "moving heat around" powers.

Also, that speech by Rachel is touching and all, but it's sort of ruined by the fact that Marvel keeps flip-flopping over whether said timeline still exists somewhere in the multiverse.
