Batman is occasionally fine with murder as long as it's not directly shooting someone. Accidental hanging, falling off ledges, being trapped in a room with no way out... as long as he can convince himself it wasn't his fault.

We're really at a point where Batman's "I didn't do it" body count and tendency to deflect blame thereof should be addressed in story.

I do remember up through mid-90s, times like this, Batman okay if a guy died by some freak fall or such. Then it became "no one dies around me" and such which seemed a bit much. Then again his "hey, nice job letting him get torn apart" was a tad over the top even for the time.

I seem to recall Batman locking the original KGBeast in a room with no food and water in the Gotham sewers and not telling the police where to find him...
