I miss Bane from Secret Six. That version's my favorite.

It would be nice if we could one day get a story involving him that does not involve either the venom drug or "hey remember when he broke the Bat?!".

As a pro wrestling fan, I can't help but love this... but does anyone remember him overthrowing his country's dictatorship? I feel like there's so much going on with Bane most, but not all writers ignore. If it weren't for his obsession with Batman he'd be a superhero or at least an anti-hero.

I'm not so sure. Bane is not a kind man. He was literally born and raised in one of the worst prisons in the world. His exposure to anything good in mankind has been extremely limited. I mean, his entire obsession with Batman was because he had nightmares about a bat creature in his youth and decided to crush Batman as a representation of crushing his old fears. And once he thought Batman was dealt with, he decided to conquer Gotham through its criminal underworld.

It could work. Arguably not with what has already been done with Bane -- I can't say for sure, personally, but going by what's been said in the comments here, it may not matter.

Imagine someone raised in such a way that they develop such a hatred for the wrongdoings and injustice of it all that when given the opportunity to do so, they fight back against everything they hate.

Only they don't know what the light is, only that they despise the dark; they don't know what love is, only that they can't stand the hatred. And so on.

I like to think it could be similar to when Carnage, among others in Marvel, was inverted; driven to do good without knowing what "good" even is.

Huh, that is a very promising start. Didn't expect anything with the "One Bad Day" tagline to be hopeful.
