Last month, we saw the Graphic Novel form of Artimes Fowl, and we seen Cho and Val raise to the occasion as being just as smart as the grown-up scientists in Marvel. But I present to you my favorite kid genius from the Megaman Battle Network Games/Manga. This is Sean Obihiro.

The story starts out with Lan and Megaman.exe, the heroes of the series, fighting Chaud and Protoman.exe, the cool rivals, with their newly obtain power of HubStyle. Only problem is, it makes Mega goes berserk and Lan spaces out. Megaman has Protoman on the ropes, ready to finish him off like it was DBZ when this happens (remeber to read the panels right to left.)

I just love it how he just "wounds" Chaud with his words, literally stabbing him in the heart.

The whole Kei-Yuki thing will be explain in another post. The kid is super smart and he is already a professor. What does Cho has? A test that proves that he's the 7th smartest person in the world.
Here, I just did he his introduction in the manga. You maybe wondering, why i like this character. He was and guy character with nothing and was filled with anger, because of this, he was turned into a tool for a bigger more fiendish plan. And when Lan and Mega toppled his CrimeMafia, he help Sean get a hold on his life. Sad thing though, he only appears in 2 of the story games and is replaced by a robot in the anime. Sure, he is in the manga, but his story is far different from the game. One manga that comes close is this one, but it's not translated into English. (can somebody here do a translation on the one page where he flashes back as a "wittle" kid?). I think I like him so much is because of his vague background, anyone can give him more of backstory and it can seem real. Like for me, I see him as the son of the BN's version of Tron Bone. (Both insane "evil" geniuses with some good in them).
And, since I such a dork of the character. Here is his story at the end of the 2nd game. Spoilers if you haven't played it yet.
Next time, I will post "Kei Yuki's" bigger role in the manga and his appearance int he 3rd game.

Date: 2010-02-05 06:16 am (UTC)It's been released in Japan, and it didn't exactly strike sales gold there, though it seems to have done well enough to help Capcom's overall fortunes.
Despite that, however, Capcom USA doesn't seem to have any plans for a U.S. release at the moment, most likely due to the disappointment that followed when it was discovered that it is almost exactly the same game with a brief Star Force episode tacked on before the end of the game that doesn't even affect the story in any way.
Review here.

Won't be realease in the US?

Date: 2010-02-05 07:18 am (UTC)Of course, the fact they announced Rockman Zero Collection in Japan and then turned around to announce Mega Man Zero Collection here in short order probably doesn't bode well, either.
