It's just been announced by Warner Brothers Animaton that fan favourite cartoon series "Young Justice" WILL get a long delayed Season 3!!

“The affection that fans have had for Young Justice, and their rallying cry for more episodes, has always resonated with us,” said Sam Register, President, Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series, in a statement. "We are excited to bring the show back for this loyal fanbase and to provide an opportunity for new viewers to discover this excellent series.”

Original Young Justice producers Brandon Vietti (Batman: Under the Red Hood, Superman: Doomsday) and Greg Weisman (Star Wars Rebels, Gargoyles, The Spectacular Spider-Man) have both returned to the series for the new episodes.

No word as to where it will be available, or exactly when, but it WILL happen!

Well, it's nice to get some pleasant news after this past couple of days!

... Do we want it back though?? Do we really want it back?

Because it really did do what it was supposed to do, it didn't feel like it was left hanging... i loved it though. I would like a new show to try new things in the same mature-but-fun vein.

I dunno, i feel like its like 'Firefly', when saying 'we want it back' is almost just a way of going through the motions lol.

That being said, I'll watch it!

I don't even remember that plot point.

I liked Young Justice a lot--well, I liked season 2 of Young Justice a lot. I especially like how the characters progressed, and I'd be excited to see Dick as Nightwing, assuming that's what's coming next. It'll be fun to see old faces reinvented and changed into different paragons of virtue.

Shows how little I remember. I guess that's why I liked 2 more than 1--got really tired of Robin's antics in the first series!

Christ i totally forgot about that haha, yeah The Light seemed to drift away from importance mid season 2 for me, so I feel like that didnt feel like a hit.

Though I'm always happy to see the New Gods in more content, and i like the art style of the show, so I'm happy for it to return.

While I do like the news, it does leave me really nervous as there were a lot of stuff they did in the second season that left me honestly uncomfortable in a bad way and I don't necessarily want to see what their intentions were.

Just the Miss Martian storyline in general still gives me the creeps.

No, I agreed that was great. How they resolved that story was horrifying for me.

She never faces consequences for her actions. Even the Aqualad thing wasn't her having to face that maybe psychically lobotomizing people is wrong, but rather that she did it to someone innocent here.

And after that was resolved, they never told Aqualad that it was something she had done before, instead allowed him to think that it was an one time thing she had done because she thought he had killed Artemis. Furthermore, she got back together with the guy she had been trying to brainwash before that.

So in essence Miss Martian is shown doing horrific stuff and never face any repercussions because of that, instead getting that happy ending.

I've never been a fan of YJ, but this makes me happy for two reasons.

First, second-hand happiness for those who loved the show and wanted it back. The feeling you get when a show you love gets canceled can be best expressed by Charlie Brown's AAUGH, and getting it back must feel like being finally able to kick the football. I'm happy for you guys :D

Second, if this show gets rescued by Netflix, it sets a precedent, and other shows I'm a fan of might one day get brought back too!

I miss that show as well. I'm happy for Young Justice fans but it did nothing for me. For me Spectacular was the btas of Spider-man show.

Or at least in a role different from the Joker. Like Doc Magnus or something.

It's going to seriously matter for me where it airs because if Cartoon Network picks it back up all I will think is, 'Oh god, Young Justice Go. No, please.' (I know Teen Titans Go is popular, but it is such a slap in the face to me as a fan of the original series.)

The way I heard it, TTG is "popular" because they keep pushing it hard and making it air all the time, so kids end up watching it because there is nothing else on.

Yeah... I really don't think YJ Go will be a thing for a number of reasons. For one, the circumstances around both shows ending. TT had a good run, was over for nearly a decade, then the NTT shorts came out which led to TTG (iirc wasn't there a poll for the DC Nation shorts on which one people wanted to be a full show and of course TT fans voted for NTT in hopes of a season 6) and of course since the old creators and writers for TT have long since moved on to other projects it became a different type of show under different people which isn't a bad thing, just were it takes that premise at times...yeah.

YJ was still pretty recent and the original creators will be back too so it seems it won't change that much.

Who knows maybe Tim and Cassie will finally get to play a significant role in a show called Young Justice

Or should I expect even more focus on the season one cast?

It sure would be nice if a show called Young Justice actually starred characters from the comic book Young Justice. Crazy concept huh?

A lot of characters appeared in Season 2.

Tim and Cassie, the two leaders of the comics Young Justice, contributed less to the show than either Roy Harper. Even the superfriends pastiches had more focus.

Looking forward to Steph Brown getting an expanded role (which shouldn't be too hard as she had the same voice actress as Wonder Girl, Mae Whitman). Cass Cain too, natch.

I've been trying to get into the show but keep falling out of it, though I've seen enough bits and pieces to know pretty much every major plot point. Now, with the ripples the show has left on the DC fanbase as a whole, and the fact that the real world has now caught up with the timeskip, it delights me to see such a deserving show back in action.

...though of course, I must remember to limit my excitement. The current 'Reboot Era' of Cartoon Network has taught me to be careful what I wish for. Still, with the original creators returning to the helm, hope springs eternal.

I can't help but wonder Weisman not inly adding it was low toy sales that lead to YJ's downfall because it's obvious information to include but also due to the " CN canceled YJ bc too many girls watched it" rumor that too many actually still beleive even though he himself said it wasn't true as did any one else who actually worked on the show or bothered to listen to the rest of that podcast...

Still, this is awesome news as while I think YJ over did it in convuluted plots and cameos for cameos sake it was entertaining and a shame it was shut down so early and at such a cliff hanger.
