I don't understand why the title says the cat is depressed. If anything, a more accurate title would be 'The Masterful Cat Is Pissed Off Because His Human Lives Like A Slob'.

Chapter 16. Saku's mother keeps demanding pictures of Yukichi. The problem is that Saku's mother still think Yukichi is a regular sized cat.

The whole heating arrangement most Japanese homes have still boggles my mind. No central heating or even batteries. Just space heater or two and a kotatsu. I can't even imagine what's it like going to the toilet during the winter.

I've lived there and didn't find it too bad! The toilet was icy but there was a seat-warmer. And Western-style apartments do have central heating and cooling.

Then again, I'm Australian and our houses are notoriously open and poorly insulated, so maybe I'm just used to it.

Speaking as someone who had to stay in an Australian apartment in winter - this checks out.

I guess we have it too good on that front here in Finland. Insulation and heating, that is. Then again our houses are lousy when it comes to dealing with heat, which is becoming more and more of an issue nowadays.
