I think it was around this time that DeFalco's Thor went from being a cheesy, if charming throwback to something that was trying to have it both ways, but the retro stuff and 90's stuff just looked mutually more ridiculous standing next to each other (And his F4 pretty much got off on that foot). (I also think a lot of that is like what it's like to read pretty much any post 2000 John Byrne comics)

That is a very 90s makeover Sif is sporting there.
And if they hadn't addressed her as such, might've been hard pressed to realise it was her, and not some Random 90s Person.


Poor Eric.
Kind of lagging behind Beta Ray Bill and Jane in the replacement Thor lists.
(I'd say he's like the Kyle to their John and Jessica, but even that's probably being a bit generous.
I wouldn't say the Guy, because he doesn't deserve that comparison.)

Hey, Beta Ray Bill never tried to be Thor. He understood the concept of it being his name, not his title. Unlike Jane, who thinks just because she lifted the hammer and received the power of Thor, she got to take his name too. That's not how names work, Foster. If I pick up a name tag and slap it on, it doesn't make me "Jerry", the guy who works in the produce department.
