Meanwhile, in the main plot, Destro and Firefly evade capture by setting G.I. Joe up the bomb.





Roadblock, I swear to God, if you tell anyone that you'll win the war by saving what you love instead of fighting what you hate...

Honestly, if Cobra Commander -had- just stuck to schemes like this, he'd have been terrifyingly effective and probably succeeded without anyone the wise.

It's a good thing for us all that he's obsessed with snake iconography and destroying G.I. Joe, prone to betraying and backstabbing the very people he hires to facilitate his schemes, and loves grandiose, impractical master plans.

But then again, Commander hires only the best people, undermines them, and then blames them for all of his many failures.

Larry Hama certainly predicted the future.

To be fair to Roadblock, Tripwire wasn't thinking clearly, or else he'd have realized the same thing Roadblock did.

And one of the things that always made Comics Cobra more dangerous than Cartoon Cobra is how they actually operated, by taking advantage of American Culture's worst impulses.

What sucks though is that here you have a guy whose specialty is explosives disposal. Like, that’s literally his primary job on the team.

Instead of saving the day by disposing of an explosive, he gets to watch as the team’s heavy machine gun operator chucks the bomb through a pipe, using a feat of strength.

Honestly, Trip should have been the one to tell Roadblock how to handle this.
“Only seven seconds, not enough time to get this up to the deck.
The concussion will pulverize us all in this space unless… Roadblock, catch and go for a long pass!”
Tosses to Roadblock, Roadblock throws through pipe. Day saved, Tripwire gets to bask in the only time he’ll be useful before the next batch of toys take center stage.
