In issue #1076, she'd started gathering help.
Issue #1077 opened on the day of what she was trying to save him from - his public execution.
Batman was led to the gallows by the Orgham retainer Shavhod, who taunted him.

" No one cares. And no one is coming to save you. "
Three days ago, Catwoman'd brought some of her " crew " together - Eiko Hasigawa and Cassandra Cain, " Shoes " and Solomon Grundy (last seen in #1070, when the latter helped the former), Cheshire..

Surprise warmed Jim -

- and then anger.
(Freeze was previously in this around #1066-#1067.)

Catwoman went out in costume, over Gotham's rooftops - to where she'd been told the Orghams were keeping Batman.
Their azmer was in him - he was insensate to her wistful lament and her promise.

(That's the azmer's fangs looming above Batman - evidently, that embrace is one of the last of his " rememberances ".)
Orgham goons were on their way -

- and Catwoman was gone by the time they were in Batman's cell.
Arzen Orgham and his retainers considered how to deal with her promise to Batman.
" We can't afford to draw more attention now. Not until the Batman is hanged. " one said.
" We can weed out the riffraff after. "

" .. and they'll need something much bigger than a cat burglar. "
Later, that cat burglar was again in the mood she'd been when she'd left her gathered - was talking to someone who rebuffed her.
" Go away, harlot. I've dark work to do this night. "

The backup story explained how Cheshire'd come into this - Lian Harper'd sought out her mother, Solomon Grundy in tow.
(The tangled-ness of Lian's life was clarified in the still-running post-Dark Crisis Green Arrow maxiseries.)

(Cheshire probably regularly envenoms her wall-swords.)

(" Ridiculous spandex people " is a bit gratuitous, but it works as irony if you think of Cheshire as a pulp cliché without self-awareness.)

' I hold you tight in my bloodstained arms.
' And pray to whoever may listen that I have not damned you. '
(This is from Detective Comics #1077, which came out in November 2023.
Writing on the main's Ram V. Art's Jason Shawn Alexander, colors're Dave Stewart, and letters're Ariana Maher.
Writing on the backup's Dan Watters, art's Caspar Wijngaard, and letters're Steve Wands.
Publisher's DC.)
