I swear, the Nebula we have now bears almost no resemblance to the Nebula we first met leading space pirates as she hijacked Thanos' old ship/home.
And yet I can't really pinpoint a certain moment or appearance where she changed (apart from explicitly being made into a cyborg in the '90s run of Silver Surfer, which has carried over until now). She was a nasty piece of work for such a long time, and any element of sympathy in her character is a really recent development.
She pretended to be Kang Nebula, because the Council of Cross-Time Kangs was made out of beings that had killed a Kang and assumed his identity. Or at least that's my recollection.
There was her solo series where she had an experimental piece of technology implanted in her (while holding the child of the surgeon hostage during the procedure, mind) and ended up stranded on a planet with a bit of amnesia where she was starting to be a bit less of an asshole to the people nursing her back to health and protecting them against other bad guys
I don't know if it was ever finished but I assume that was how she was supposed to go from the old Nebula to the new Nebula
First Annihilation (Annihilation: Ronan, to be specific). The Graces, and they weren't monks, just marauders. Also included Cerise from Excalibur. No idea what she was doing in there. Spying, maybe?
Well, in fairness it was a plot point that Glorian was luring people to that planet to make them fight for his own reasons. (Not because she'd done something like realise how ridiculous and impossible her goal was. ... if she'd waited a decade or so, she'd have an easier time of it. Celestials these days go down like paper dolls...)
I've only seen three occurrences of that, actually (some of them repeat occurrences, but hey). Beings that they themselves created, or gave power to, to be able to do that (Beyonders and Kings in Black), the Horde and X-Books.
Two of those I can understand, third I know the reasons for and keep headdesking about.
Not familiar with Victoria, but, umm... was she this much of a cartoon supervillain before? (Or did the writers just feel that with Deathbird currently being not evil, someone had to fill the "cartoon space supervillain" slot?)

I know... MCU synergy.
