The Spider-Offices were still doing damage control for the OMD/BND transition at least as recently as the Spencer run.

They're completely right. She's bringing this on herself by wearing that costume. This isn't a political movement. Wearing an X will only bring trouble down on herself, not change anyone's minds about mutants.

No, this is a war. It's a war in which the mutants are the far smaller army and when that's the case, being sneaky is the better method. This should be painfully obvious and the fact this isn't pointed out stuns me. She should be chastised for ruining her potential use as an undercover agent. Now ORCHIS knows she's with them.

Have you read ANY of the previous Ms Marvel: The New Mutant mini? Because Orchis already know she's a member of the X-Men. She deciding showing solidarity with the mutants was more important than hiding from controversy.

Also, Kamala can still go undercover, so I have no idea what you are talking about.

Yes, they know she's a mutant...because she went out wearing an X on her costume. And she isn't showing solidarity because she IS a mutant. Showing solidarity would be non-mutants wearing an X.

Really, though, the change in Kamala's costume shouldn't be treated as evidence that she's a mutant...because as far as the public should know, it could just be a display of solidarity. It's more than just adding an X in her case; she's modifying the yellow-and-blue design that the original X-Men had.

But either way, that's always been a risk of dressing to show your allyship: if Spider-Man and the Thing showed up to a battle wearing Xes, the internet would probably run the story as SPIDER-MAN AND THE FANTASTIC FOUR REVEALED TO BE MUTANTS.

At this point, though, Orchis probably has her on a public hit list due to Sentinel data regardless.
