At least give the poor things somewhere to sit. They are among the oldest beings in existence, all that standing around is going to do them a mischief.

The thing with the hexagonal head? That's one of Ego's spores(?) that they create to converse with lesser beings.

I'm enjoying this series. I like the art. But... Astronomer is an ancient Greek philospher, Contemplator is a Buddha, and Trader is a short man with a big nose. Could have maybe avoided a stereotype or two. I can't decide if Obliterator being a white guy with a buzz cut and angular jaw means he's German, Frankenstein's Monster, or just Frank Castle.

Trader bugged the hell out of me when this came out. Now I can see him as part of a lineage that includes the Ferengi and Watto the greedy junk merchant on Tatooine. I know none of the people who created these characters were antisemitic but god damn they really should have thought about this for like two seconds longer.

I had recognized the Ferengi, but Watto had escaped me. Pretty obvious in retrospect but I haven't rewatched the prequels since they were in theaters, and teenage me was distracted by the Trade Federation being Japanese and the Gungans being Jamaican. And I agree entirely with the creators not being antisemitic, just not thinking about where the archetype comes from.

Obliterator is a pure clown show. I mean, he's like a joke even among the Eterna- um, Immorta- um... fuck, I've literally forgotten the collective name for these yahoos while contemplating his stupid face.
Guardians of the Universe? No... Celestials? No. Undying? Endless? Friendless? Externals?

Yeesh. They're like ninjas-the more there are, the worse they get.

Do the Surfer and Mantis not both have cosmic awareness, which they could have used from interplanetary distances away rather than 50 feet?

For that matter, how the hell does the Surfer approach Ego the Living Planet from space and not know what he is?

It's rare I look upon comic pages and go "that's too much talking" but gosh dang, that's a lot of talking. They need to be immortal to live through that much exposition.

Also, the Grandmaster is a lying liar. He didn't allow Hawkeye to cheat. Hawkeye bamboozled him fair and square and now he's trying to save face. No, sir, you got outfoxed by an Earthling in purple. Live with it.

Hawkeye beating an Elder of the universe with a carny trick (and Cap being surprised he cheated) is one if his absolute best moments. He’s earned his spot on the team on sheer balls alone.
