Later, the kids go wandering off in to the sewers and X-Factor have to go trudging after them.

The fight doesn’t go well. Scott, Jean and Warren were probably letting the drama get in the way again.

Warren may be a total arse, but even he doesn't deserve what's about to happen.
A good kicking, perhaps, maybe a smack upside the head, but not this.

Everyone always says Claremont's writing was soap opera, but this feels far more soap opera-y.
Misunderstandings, explosions, tantrums... all we're missing is love triangles involving siblings.

I'd say Warren would've probably been safer going after Candy, but judging by this series and its track record, there's no way he'd have managed to extricate himself.
Either he'd have said something stupid, Candy would've refused to listen, or something would've attacked them before he could say the crucial part.
