I know everyone likes the Silver Age and all, but it just seems dumb to me to have this "I got my own sidekick, Daredevil, neiner neiner!" stuff after Bullseye murdered Daredevil's girlfriend in front of him. It's like Darkseid showing up in Young Justice, only there it worked because Darkseid's 'genre' is kinda whimsical anyway, whereas Daredevil and Bullseye are gritty and mature--it just feels wrong. Like if in Gladiator, Maximus and Commodus had animal sidekicks who chased each other around with mallets while Commodus was talking about having his men rape Maximus's wife.

The setup's a psycho employing a kid to do violent work for his own jollies - that would easily've fit into something like Miller or Nocenti-written Daredevil.

If Miller or Nocenti wrote it, it'd be something like a kid who ran away from home with his father's gun, wearing jeans and a Voltron T-shirt. It'd be a one-issue story and the cover would be something like the kid crying while holding the gun on Daredevil.
