The Avengers set Teen Tony on Evil Tony. To the surprise of nobody, it does not go well for him.

To make things even more complicated, this isn’t even the real Madame Masque. It is eventually revealed to be one of her bio-duplicates. I don’t what's wrong with calling it a clone, but that's up to Kurt Busiek.

Can the timestream possibly withstand the arrogance of two Tony Starks?

At least Teen Tony got retconned out of existence before he had his own Civil War. Or anything Tony 616 has done ever since. Do we even know for sure that Tony hasn’t reverted to Immortus’s control since? It would explain a lot.

Sending an inexperienced kid to fight a veteran Avenger and the heroes are shocked Teen Tony got his ass handed to him?
