Halloween Week - Tommy Rawhead and Bloodybones

Since its Halloween and all, I thought I'd post one of my favorite sequences from one of my favorite comics ever, Courtney Crumrin.

This series is printed through Oni Press and is typically marketed to the young adult Harry Potter crowd but it's really a decent read for older crowds as well.

These scans are from the first issue of the second story arc Courtney Crumrin and the Coven of Mystics. Courtney is a rather cynical mean spirited girl who dabbles in magic and lives with her rather shallow parents and her warlock uncle on the edge of a creepy wood filled with goblins and fairies and other "Night Things" on a regular basis.




One day she feels something in the woods that is more horrible than usual and proceeds to investigate.

New Courtney Crumrin needs to come out more often.

There's new Polly in the works but, sadly, it probably won't have Ted on art.

Hrm. I'm not sure what I think of that.

I guess it depends on if he's still writing, and who's doing the art instead.

It's definitely Ted writing. IIRC, Polly + Courtney + other projects meant that something had to give time-wise, and that something was the art duties on Polly. I am very curious to see who he winds up working with.

Well, the guy does draw and write the whole comic on his own, so I can see why it takes a while.

But yeah, I miss the comic too. :( I have all four volumes and pimp it to whoever I meet.

I'll always be grateful for this community introducing me to her.
