scans_dailyAfter the slight detour to explore the origins of the year 2020's Iron Man, we jump back into the Machine Man miniseries from 1984.
This issue: Machine Man and Iron Man face off in the year 2020 and familiar faces return.

We pick up from last issue as the Midnight Wreckers make their way to the location of the secret base of all Wreckers everywhere:
'Tis a silly place.
The Midnight Wreckers are give a pretty cool welcome by their other bretheren, who are aware they are the focus of the ire of Sunset Bain, CEO of the all-powerful Baintronics Inc.
They're also missing their lost member Hassle, who was captured by Bain in an ambush the previous issue.
Machine Man was forcibly brought off-line by Brain when he insisted on going back to rescue Hassle. When Brain finally removes the scrambler that turned his robo brain to mush he is not best pleased.
Elsewhere, while old friends are conversing, so are old enemies.
Back at Sanctuary, while the Midnight Wreckers hold a celebratory party, Gears fills Aaron on in what he missed.
Poor Peter. He deserved better than an off-screen death and an inconsistent spelling of his last name.
A few months after Machine Man and Jocasta were captured, Baintronics began mass producing robots and the rest is history.
Later...
As you may recall, it seems that Hassle's escape from Baintronics HQ was a little too easy, and the evil Doctor Cylobe had implanted a tracker in her body, enabling this to happen very shortly afterwards.
Machine Man and the Wreckers scramble to try and save Sanctuary from the attack before they're wiped out.
Arno and Aaron come to blows as Sactuary lurches in the sky as the floating base's engines are damaged.
Iron Man briefly gains the upper hand.
Machine Man manages to patch into the computer and stablize Sanctuary, while the Baintronics forces retreat after Iron Man realises Aaron has the upper hand, for now at least.
It seems Aaron learned absolutely nothing from leaving his arm lying around, just like last time.
Next issue: Final controntations!
