So, this is a Batman without a 'no-kill' rule, right?

Loving the idea of Bruce having all those friends as a kid. A much better peer group than 'just Thomas Elliot'.

He GENERALLY has a no kill rule. Oh, he'll chop an arm off with an axe, but he'll helpfully point out that there's a hospital nearby that can save the guy's life. If the victim doesn't listen to him, that's their fault. Batman isn't taking him there.

I really like how getting access to a thing that regular Batman has always had is set up here as a character-defining moral choice.

I do like this version of a still-competent Batman who faced with a more powerful foe, it's better than Earth One where Bruce (at least initially) mostly just comes across as an inept dickhead in a batsuit.

The only problem with this flashback style is it makes the pages look like they've been scanned weirdly, in a vintage way.
