Date: 2009-10-30 04:47 pm (UTC)Kamen's art is deceptive in its seeming sweetness. It positioned him perfectly to go over the line into perversity, the hapless reader having no warning. People forget too that he was one of the foremost of the EC crime artists. I look at him as being a seed of a style we'd later associate with David Lynch. (and there's more than a touch of Lang and Sirk in his work.)
