I mean, I'm pretty sure they've both pushed the legal boundaries of "til death do us part" to it's limits ages ago and the Emma situation (which seems to be over) complicates things but they currently consider themselves married.

They're just in a long-distance telepathic relationship while Jean is finding herself and Scott is rebuilding.

Pretty sure Jean's just flattering Carol because if she doesn't she'll just spend the rest of the meeting sulking.

Yeah, given her husband, family and friends, Jean is definitely being super-nice to Carol here so she doesn't feel left out.

I mean, remembering that Cable time went into sheer fanboy mode when he realised that the mission he was on meant he was going to be working with THE Rocket Raccoon, whose legendary tactical prowess was still spoken of reverentially in the hellhole future Nate comes from.
