The goons captured a robot Scott had been using to practice his tricks, mistakenly believing it to be the real thing. Granny’s soldier boys are not smart.

Now, that’s some radical Kirby tech!

Granny Goodness makes the age-old villain mistake of not actually watching the death trap dispose of the hero.

If I never reveal how Scott escapes these traps, rest assured that Mother Box will always nonsense a way out of it.

What the hell was Kirby thinking when he created her? A villain that will never, never go away as long as there are comic books.

To be fair, Kirby couldn't have imagined that one day DC would make her the secret Big Bad behind Amazons Attack!, one of the most ill-conceived narratives since our ancestors first gathered around campfires and began telling stories.

"Then Man-Who-Is-Bat say: 'Bees. My god.'"

"Ugh. That story terrible. Next time get beta reader before you tell to clan."

Those goons are really jazzed about their pointed helmets.
Well, I suppose when you're a goon in the ultimate embodiment of all evils, you got to find your job perks where you can.
"The other goons have everything. The buttons, the blasters, the snug elasticated helmets! They have it all! It's so unfair!"


It's weird seeing Granny just ineffectually flailing once she's foiled there. So used to more modern Granny, who'd probably just try and pummel Scott to death herself.
(70s writing standards, or commentary on how the gods of Apokolips are more bark than bite? Yes.)


There's also New X-Pit, Astonishing X-Pit, Yet Another X-Pit, and the most horrible of all... X-Pit: Green.
It subjects people to hamfisted environmental commentary.

Not to mention it tries to convince anyone Sage is quite interesting, really.

The real torment of the X-pit is being trapped with nothing to do except flick the lightswitch that controls whether Magneto is good or evil.
