Sesame Street? Holy shit, with all the green puns, I can't believe they missed out on Oscar the Grouch. Oscar vs. Hulk would've made this the best crossover ever. I would've wept tears of joy before my eyeballs exploded... with JOY!
No, right before Peter Parker gets his invite, the Electric Company invites the cast of Sesame Street and THE GODDAMN CAPTAIN KANGA-FUCKING-ROO! Throw in the Muppets and that League of Badasses picture posted a couple days back is in for some competition.
Don't blame them, blame CN and Sam Register for never appreciating the JLU to give it the regard it deserved and undermining it at every turn.
You'll note they didn't have any trouble getting Ted for Batman the Brave and the Bold. So what changed in the past four years or so that they could get him now and not then?
The copyright ran out between when JLU was made and when Brave and the Bold was made actually. It would have already ran out for JLU if the electric company didn't have their own craptastic blue beetle.
I suppose the same is true for the Plastic Man copyright then.
Still, CN could have done more to get the rights, I mean they work for the WB, they got lawyers, they should be able to muscle the rights for Blue Beetle and Plastic Man out of an old kids show and an old radio show.
I've never heard of the Electric Company but that is one freaky looking plant they have. I wouldn't trust it an inch. Haven't they seen Little Shop of Horrors? Don't feed the plants!
It's most notable for having what appears to be a "missing song" that's in no version of the stage, screen, or known "dropped" numbers I can find; The Greek Chorus appear in costume (Which means there's a song coming on) with the words;
"Who's the best, the beautiful green one? Who? Audrey Two! Who's a star, if ever I've seen one? Who? Audery Two"
And then continues in rhythmic prose for another couple of panels, which to me screams that it's
The most recent Broadway production soundtrack includes more "lost songs" from the movie and show than I've heard before (Audrey Two's "Bad" which is sort of a precursor to "Mean Green Mother", Audrey's "The more he loves me" a painfully depressing lovesong about her abusive relationship with Orin, "A Little Dental Music" which is supposed to be for the dentists waiting room, and Orin's "I found a hobby" a precursor to "Dentist!" which details how he developed his taste for pain) but nothing which seems to link to the comic text...
Ooh, shiny! I may have to get that Broadway soundtrack at some point. I've had the film one for years (I think it was one of the first CDs I ever owned!) and that is very good but it doesn't have such delights as 'Mushnik and Son'. I saw it down at the New Theatre just last week with Sylvester McCoy. It was awesome.
Not the New Theatre Oxford? Crap, I didn't realise it was there or I'd have gone to see it! :(
I can thoroughly recommend that soundtrack, this (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Little-Shop-Horrors-Alan-Menken/dp/B0000CEROJ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1237968195&sr=1-2) is the one to go for.
Nah, New Theatre Cardiff. Or New Theatre Acton if you watch Sarah Jane Adventures. I believe it's doing the rounds though, so maybe it'll head your way.
