The Fenris twins' logo says " repurposing of cataclysm as holy cleansing " and also " local sports team ".

Quite on-brand for modern Nazis, then. Aiming for looking badass and not quite getting there.

It's also on-brand arrogance in a world that knows the Fenris wolf is a real thing. They're very much gambling that he won't take offence.

Everyone's forgotten about the Norse gods being real thanks to Thor events - though when Hercules and Ares have been Avengers, and most other gods and supernatural entities appear to be very real, it's not a huge jump to guess that they do.

I certainly wouldn't mind seeing Fenris getting angry that his name is being used by a pair of creepy twins.

Have they forgotten Norse gods or just Thor? Wasn't Bill's hammer said to be from Asgard, or am I misremembering that?

That's pretty much what the early issues of Mortal Thor did; Thor beating up a group of white supremacists using his name in vain.

I know their Ultimate versions used it, but I've no idea if they've done so on Earth-616 before, or if MacKay's doing a deep cut.

It's new to this appearance, as far as 616 goes. In the past, they just had ugly matching costumes. Like, hideous. Black and green, red jackets, orange thigh high boots. Euuugh.

I would have preferred it if this issue was just the X-men trying to not kick the Nazis ass and doge any nazi attempt to get into a fight -until Magneto can be there for it.

Having Magneto there would rather preclude any of the Nazis getting out alive. ;P
