...which is REALLY saying something.

When I was watching the most recent episode (A Batman Divided) something caught my eye for just a second, one of those (literal) blink and you miss it moments, and I had to stop to go back and check I'd been right (and I don't interrupt the first watching of a Brave and the Bold episode lightly, I assure you)

Here's what I saw...

An no, it's not Batman eating tortilla chips which is the real "WOW!" moment, it's the mascot on the bottle of cheese goop.

Who could it be but the smallest hero with the biggest heart from the Zoo Crew... Chester Cheese, aka;

From his wikipedia entry

Chester Cheese was the son of Dr. Edam Cheese, who was conducting research on the "Lunar Longhorn," a type of cheese found on the moon by astronauts. Upon returning home one evening, Chester found his father murdered, with the killer locking him in his father's lab. Unable to escape and growing hungry, Chester decided to eat the Lunar Longhorn, the only edible thing available in the lab. The extraterrestrial cheese gave Chester the power to shrink in size at will. Chester thus went into training to become a superhero, and became "Little Cheese." Chester soon joined the Zoo Crew in bringing his father's killer to justice, and was rewarded membership with the group.

In Teen Titans #30-31 (December 2005-January 2006), Little Cheese is mentioned in a series of pages purporting to be a Zoo Crew comic published in the mainstream DC Universe, and follows the adventures of the Zoo Crew teammates in a grimmer, darker version of Earth-C, parodying the recent trend toward "grim and gritty" superhero comics. In these pages, Little Cheese is killed at the hands of Alley-Kat-Abra out of interspecies hatred.

In Captain Carrot and the Final Ark, Alley returns claiming that her crimes were actually committed by an evil doppelganger "Dark Alley" created by Feline Faust while she herself was banished into the future. As such, she is horrified at her double's crimes, including Little Cheese's murder, and vows to undo them as best she can.

Oh, and one final cameo, just to prove that I think we now have cameos from every single old version of Batman

Simon the Pieman from the 1960's Batman cartoon series.

Let me guess:

"BATMAN? Are you really going to blow your secret identity for a taco?"

"Hmmm. No. I think I'll get a burrito TOO!"

Of course not! Alfred wouldn't approve. It's full of calories, has little nutritious value, and slathered with disgusting processed cheese. Master Bruce needs someone to take care of his arteries, after all.

I was dissapointed when I found out that the stories appeared in the Teen Titan issues, but not in the GN format...

Nice find!

I really enjoyed that episode. Especially the revelation that one third of Batman is a total stoner.

The Slacker received all the head trauma, adding to his faux stonerness.

Well, no surprise there. Considering he picked up many "Tibetan techniques" during his travels.

I didn't like stoner Batman, in all honesty. I kinda thought The Bood-like Batman spouting Zenny stuff would be more apt.

Well, Stoner Batman didn't make any sense to me, but I figured I'd just laugh and enjoy it much like I do Zebra and Rainbow Batman.

Perhaps, but he was still raised by Alfred. The 'dudes' and the nachos just don't cut it for me.

It's just not Simon the Pieman with Barbara being bound and gagged.

*sigh*

Good thing I have my private stash to make up for it. Hee!

The Pieman episode is up on youtube if you search (don't want to link to it for fear of making trouble).

Got to say Pieman has balls if nothing else; five seconds after coming to Gotham he throws all of Batmans regular rogues gallery into a pit and declares himself the kingpin of Gotham.

I've not been following B&B for awhile. Now I'm convinced I need to start following it again.

I've been saying for the LONGEST time that Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew needs its own cartoon.
