Some Batgirl 7

It may be cold and snowy where I am but I was kinda feeling a little warm and fuzzy by the end of this issue.

As we saw in the preview Steph has a cool new Batpod. And it has an ejector seat. She uses it to wrestle Roxy on her Rocket and then she and Damian go save Dick.

What was that Dick? Could you say it louder? Sorry, little louder? Heh. They take down Roulette and its back to the Batcave for some of what I assume are Alfred's cookies.

They are cute together. Very brother and sister. And speaking of brother and sister relationships, two people better off with one.

A civil, almost warm moment for the always dysfunctional Batfamily. Wish Cass was there.

That some goooood Bat-clan discussion, and Dick being more like Dick by being less of a dick... I like it.

Though the mental image produced by Dick and Babs taking turns with Alfred on alternating weekends is a REALLY weird one, even for S_D!

And yet, Steph doesn't address the tactical bit of leaving her hair down. Probably because there's not a real way to confront that one. (Yes, I'll file it under "willing suspension of disbelief", but when it's brought up but not addressed properly it's jarring)

doesn't the cowl push it back and out of the way with the way she wears it? It's not like Batwoman's wig. For someone to grab it they basically have to be behind her and then they've got that nice big cape as a target anyway.

I'm with you on the instead of Damien. It's not that I don't like the little shit (I find him highly entertaining in a very twisted sort of way) its just that I'd prefer to have Cass there maybe making out with Steph

See i actually liked the chemistry and cuteness of dick n babs here. they're good without the angst.

but yay steph and damien are just such a fun duo. in a bro-sis way of course.

and i mean, i can understand if cass isn't there...but they never even mention that she isn't there. like tim isn't "there" cuz he's somewhere else. cass is...utterly unimportant it seems. and it stinks.

Was Cass even mentioned? Her adoptive brother, her surrogate mother (basically) and they're talking about how Steph reminds them of when Babs was Batgirl - as if there wasn't one in between. This is getting tiresome, unless Miller is being told to never even mention the girl there's no reason for it and it just repels fans (like me) who want to like the book on its own merits.

Get used to it. Steph is only Batgirl because she's white and has working legs. Seven issues in, and they still haven't brought up how Cluemaster basically started her heroine career.

DC just wants to live in the past, and when they can't do that they will pigeon hole the closest thing they can get, sigh...
