Piper was shot down by Cold in the Infinite Crisis mini series for his part in killing Kid Zoom, and hell, almost all the reformed Rogues were revealed to have been brainwashed.

I like Captain Cold, but I hate how he keeps one-upping any Rogue that's reformed.

Well, prior to this Owen was reformed an actual hero.

What happened here was Johns crapped on his character and then had Cold kick him while he was down.

*sighs* If Owen actually did what is being implied, then Johns just ignored the ton of work Owen did in reforming over the past three RL years of his continuity.

Not surprised. They tried to undo a decade's worth of humanitarian work by the Pied Piper. Way to spit on the important point that Bill Loebs was making with the character. >:(

Wait, what? Isn't Kid Zoom Inertia? The Rogues wanted to kill Inertia, why would Cold shoot Piper over that?

Err, I didn't explain myself well enough.

During the battle, Piper used his sonics to freeze Inertia, accidently(?) allowing the Rogues to kill him.

Afterwards, Cold threatens to tell everyone that Piper allowed the Rogues if he (Piper) continues to hound the Rogues, and that Piper's conscience wouldn't let him deny it. It apparently works.

So he pretty much made Piper his bitch.
