It has to mean something to have this beautiful being come to your home and tell you they loved your son, and how he died fighting bravely to save a king and his people. But i will miss Bill. He and Kelda brought a breath of fresh air to the Thor mythos like nothing i'd seen in sometime. You always think of Thor, with the Warriors Three, Balder, and Loki, and even Heimdell .And now you'll remember a brave man named Bill, son of Bill.
He and Eitri ( the really old Viking guy Thor found back in the day who helped him defeat the dragon), better be sharing a brew in Valhalla. I DEMAND THIS.
That was one of my favorite Simonson stories ever, and the last Thor-related time I cried. Such a good story.
Bill was a great character, he was wholesome and genuine without it seeming hokey. A simple man of simple but deeply held morals, who did the right thing even though it cost him his life.
Goodnight sweet farmboy, may armor clad warrior women ride thee to thy rest.
I love how Kieron Gillen is continuing to treat Kelda and the loss of Bill. He could have easily ditched them as pet characters by JMS. But this page alone says so much.
I'm calling it: since Bill died in battle, he's in Valhalla, and when the Einherjar are called forth, he'll be at their head, kicking ass and taking names.
Oh, jeez. I demand to see him come back as one of the Einherjar (sp?). If Kelda gives him a viking funeral with as much dignity as Thor gave his spearman, I am going to bawl.
