So the identity of the new Black Mask was finally revealed...






I mean, I guess it really shouldn't be a surprise. I do remember that mention of Jeremiah's pistol a few months back, and the tip off to Dick was the rubber bullets.

well, he was trying to stop black mask from burning so he was a little distracted. But yes, as much as I have loved Dick stepping up and being Bats the writers continue to make him less skilled than he should be.

Simple, it's not a cowl, it's a mask which protrudes further forward than his own face, leaving room for the glasses underneath. Contacts would have been better I agree, but....

I think the implication early on in the issue is that something to do with the mask drove him crazy. He had it off in the beginning and was starting to regain his faculties, but was forced to put it back on.

Hmm, Hobby used something similar to enforce his brainwashing on Leeds. Coated the mask with something, I think. Anyways, guess I've just fallen for the ol' bait and switch too often and I'm a bit paranoid about reveals like this nowadays.

He's not announcing it to anyone (in the story), he's addressing Arkham...now, simply 'Doctor' would seem to be the most natural way to do so in this case, though adding his last name would be necessary for those not particularly well-versed in Bat-lore, so they can figure out who he is, but...'title first-name last-name' is just weird.

Good to see Dick finally embracing his role as Batman (just when Bruce is supposed to come back, perfect timing!!). But it's annoying when they keep drawing him like Bruce. Are they supposed to be physically identical or what?

I have no particular problem with the banter, per se, but I do agree that it's distracting in this particular instance. A quip or two never hurt anyone, but Dick referencing birthday party games while kicking ass is just weird. I mean, what's next? Musical chairs?
