What's the point of this? Why reveal they did the nasty when he's dead and this will probably never be referenced again?

According to wiki, "Colossus has had other relationships, or potential relationships, develop over the years, such as Meggan, who in fact had developed feelings for him, but eventually ended up marrying her long-time love Captain Britain shortly before Excalibur disbanded; Marrow; and Rogue, with whom he shared some brief kisses after learning Rogue's powers didn't work on him in his metal form. This was something of a retcon since in one early issue Rogue absorbed an injured Colossus' power in order for the Morlock healer to save his life and again after Selene disintegrated his gloves in a battle against Nimrod."

That was a throw away from Clarmont's 6 month gap Uncanny X-Men run. All previous appearance showed Rogue not being able to touch Peter without doing as the above commenter mentioned.
