Vampirella #3 (2019) - "Seduction of the Innocent, Book 3: The Exile"

Vampi looks and behaves a certain way, so the world jumps to conclusions about her motives and goals. Those conclusions are all but universally incorrect, but that’s where drama and conflict live. So she becomes a metaphor for what we see now, outside our window.

When I moved into my house, one of my neighbors saw me wearing a durag (a nylon wave cap designed to smooth African American hair) and thought I was a gang banger. So the word went out, up and down the block, that a gang member had moved in. And not long after, a neighbor lady was standing on my lawn, shouting at my house, “Why don’t you just MOVE!” It was beyond stupid, but this is the world we live in. Now, just imagine if I had fangs and wore a thong. That’s the book I’m writing.

"By the Silver Water of Lake Champlain"

This week's episode of Creepshow will feature an adaptation of Joe Hill's 'By the Silver Water of Lake Champlain'. You can see a brief clip here; to my disappointment it appears to be a rather loose adaptation with the two kids aged up to teenagers and the story being more horror-oriented.

Interestingly enough the screenwriter for the episode is Jason Ciaramella who also did the following comic adaptation.

Good evening ladies, gentlemen and those in between, and beyond

In the run up to All Hallows Eve this Thursday, we are always in the market for a new scary story, or even an old one.... Some of you have already shared some suitably horrifying tales, and we are grateful for them, but we're looking for more!

I will be your host for this sinister season... Some of you may know me as Tim Drake, aka Red Robin from the Go!Robins webcomics by Yolin, but for the next few days, I am

Look, Erik and I have a lot in common, he spends a lot time hanging around in subterranean spaces, wearing a mask, and messing around with keyboards, and so do I!  But I digress....
