In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like. Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat among yourselves.
British PM Boris Johnson is back at work afer recovering from COVID 19,
and facing criticism for lax reaction at the start of the outbreak. He immediately made it clear there would be no immediate change to the lockdown, as we're at a delicate stage of the epidemics spread, but it's clear that not all his Government agrees with him, wanting to encourage business to open up and axe the "Stay at home" advertising. So expect mixed messages and don't mention Brexit.... business as usual then.
However, he is probably thanking his lucky stars that even he has never said anything quite as rambling and misguided as POTUS 45 this week, whose "injection of disinfectant" speech during one of his press briefings has earned scorn from... well, pretty much the rest of the human population (with the usual exceptions), to the extent that he stopped doing briefings for several days because the nasty media kept reminding him of stupid things he said, then said he didn't say, then said he'd said ironically and then... well, you get the picture.
In better news,
Spanish children have been allowed out of doors to exercise for the first time in six weeks. And New Zealand is slowly starting to open up after effectively ending community transmission, though not eliminating it entirely. The Pentagon released three videos showing UFO's taken by navy pilots that had been leaked some time ago, but which the formal release of adds legitimacy to.
Slightly on topic, Neil Gaiman has confirmed that the Sandman TV series for Netflix is ready to roll, but like any other TV project at the moment is "hibernating" until the world is a little more... predictable.
The BBC has announced
"Time Lord Victorious" what seems to be a very, VERY ambitious cross-platform, multi-media event featuring (in some way) the 8th, 9th and 10th Doctors (and Rose Tyler).
It will last 12 weeks and promises to include "audio, novels, comics, vinyl, digital, immersive theatre, escape rooms and games". (Time Lord Victorious was a title that David Tennant's Doctor sort of gave hismelf towards the end of his regeneration, when he still believed he was the only Time Lord left and when he started acting in a worryingly high handed manner as regards his impact on the timelines, so I have no idea where this one will go)
Duck Tales introduced Daisy Duck this week, and in an interesting twist, not as an established character, so this was her first ever meeting with Donald, and they are ridiculously cute together (in a squabbling, but mutually infatuated, sort of a way)
Sort of short today, but rather busy elsewhere so in the meantime; stay safe, stay well, stay awsome!
Oh, and for those who follow Islam, four weeks of blessings to you this Ramadan, I hope you find courage and triumph over adversity.
