Women of Colo(u)r Week has come and gone, but I wanted to contribute something to the theme so better late than never, I hope.
Persepolis is the autobiography of Iranian-born French author/filmmaker Marjane Satrapi, detailing her life as she grew up in Iran and beyond pre- and post-Revolution. This specific chapter comes from her teenage years, where she had emigrated to Austria at the behest of her parents to pursue the education she couldn’t get at home and escape the Iran-Iraq War.
( Technically this is Persepolis #3/Persepolis 2, but bleh. )
