Back in the day "Whitehall farce" described a genre of theatrical comedy set within the corridors of power with lots of sexual impropriety and near slapstick incompetence. These days however, it feels like the standard new report from 10 Downing Street. A, relatively, brief and now slightly out of date summary can be read here. Words alone cannot summarise my entire feelings on this situation, though mental images of flushing toilets do spring to mind.

We lost Meat Loaf, whose music shaped a surprisngly large amount of my adolescence, considering what a strait-laced nerd I am was.

We also lost Thierry Mugler, who has had absolutely no impact on any part of my life that I am aware of, but that's hardly his fault..

In more cheerful news, I did catch up with Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock, which was utterly delightful.
