First an announcement: While modbot seemed like a good idea at the time, it's proved to be unpopular with members. From now on we'll be using it only for admin posts, so that they can be edited by all members of the mod team.

Secondly, you seem to assume that all the cases involve the mean big priviliged persons being persecuted by the minorities, while I have seen on several occasions members of minorities being confronted by having poor choice of words.

Well, people are privileged/disprivileged along a number of different axes. I'm a queer woman but I'm also white. I have white privilege but not straight privilege. If someone is calling me out on racism, that's not an abuse of me as a queer woman. If someone is calling me out on sexism, it could still be absolutely valid, because I might have internalized sexism. So there's that.

Well of course, that's given. I'm priveliged in certain and in certain ways not, as probably are we all. My problem, which has turned out to be rather difficult to explain, is that the expectation here seems to be that the accuser is always right and the mods rush to the defense of the accuser, no matter how they behave or what the situation is. This is my perception of things here after having seen that happen in several threads, or at least thought that happened in several threads. Everything in this community, the worth of one's opinion, seems to be tied to how many privileges they have.
