First an announcement: While modbot seemed like a good idea at the time, it's proved to be unpopular with members. From now on we'll be using it only for admin posts, so that they can be edited by all members of the mod team.


We know that some members have had issues with the community and the mod team, and felt like they couldn't bring them to our attention. Here is your chance. If you've got a question, concern or suggestion about Scans Daily, here's where you can post it.

This post will be linked to in our profile, and checked regularly by the mods. Comments won't be screened, so you can suggest amongst yourselves.

The mods have also taken it upon themselves to educate anyway. It's the calming influence step that I feel is being neglected.

Yes, and it's entirely up to them how far they wish to go in educating and how much time they wish to volunteer to do so. Again, it is a member's responsibility to comply with community ethos and if that means the member needs educating, that too is their own responsibility.
And what on earth do you expect a calming influence to be?

"Can we all stop being upset about racism, please?"

"Let's never forget we're here for our mutual love of comics, even when some of us are really hurting each other and then acting like it's not a big deal."

"Relax, they're only calling you an asshole because they're really upset at you for saying something incredibly offensive."
