First an announcement: While modbot seemed like a good idea at the time, it's proved to be unpopular with members. From now on we'll be using it only for admin posts, so that they can be edited by all members of the mod team.
We know that some members have had issues with the community and the mod team, and felt like they couldn't bring them to our attention. Here is your chance. If you've got a question, concern or suggestion about Scans Daily, here's where you can post it.
This post will be linked to in our profile, and checked regularly by the mods. Comments won't be screened, so you can suggest amongst yourselves.

Date: 2010-07-22 11:24 pm (UTC)To give something slightly more concrete, and to backseat-mod somewhat, taking a look back at the go-to example of transfail, I would say Schmevil's post is wonderful, maybe even not quite firm enough if it was the only mod post there. Your first post is more or less perfect, and your second post appropriate to where the situation had gotten.
Obviously all this is in my opinion, but: I don't think neo_prodigy's comments are appropriate to be marked as mod notes in title and icon. For one thing, capslock shouldn't have a place in mod notes. Capslock demonstrates anger, and modding angry is never a good idea. Even if the decision is right, the appearance of anger deteriorates confidence. Like I mentioned in the first paragraph, the outrage would be fine if it wasn't as part of a mod note, but once the mod hat (or mod glare) comes on, I expect a different standard.
My browser ate the first version of this comment, but I think I covered everything I intended again. Hopefully this gives you mods insight into at least where one person is coming from.
