Ages ago, I posted something from Ultimate Fantastic Four Annual #2 about Nursery 2 and the kids that lived there. Since then, I've finished reading the whole thing and was moderately disappointed by the ending.

The only one that had any sort of reference before or after that story, and received some form of personality was Strange Josie.

She was introduced as a throwaway line in #9, by Warren Ellis with art by Stuart Immonen.

Yes... a stealth corset. And it looks like Josie is not comfortable with boys in the Ellis-verse.

She reappears in Annual #3, written by Mike Carey

Dr Molekevic kidnaps the kids from Nursery 2 and tells them that they will build giant death machines for him and then be used for breeding. Josie is not impressed with this and the kids rebel against Dr Molekevic.

Man alive, Immonen's work is lovely. His departure from New Avengers is the reason why I dropped it. I wish that I'd been reading UFF monthly when he was on it.

Josie then reappears in #54, still written by Mike Carey and drawn by Top Cow's Tyler Kirkham. It's quite fugly.

As readers of Ultimate Doom #4 will know... that's not how it ended.

I wonder if in the various Marvel Universes, the act of locking geniuses in rooms full of equipment and then having them build weapons to facilitate their escape is known as "Pulling a Stark."

It should be known as that anywhere. The closest that I can think of it anywhere else in literature is Br'er Rabbit getting thrown in the briar patch, if the briar patch were actually made of miniature fusion reactors and hand-held particle accelerators.

You know, I was going to disagree initially and say it might be called "Pulling an A-Team," but Iron Man's origin predates them by over a decade, so...yeah. You're right.

I think TV Tropes calls it Locking MacGuyver in the Store Cupboard.

Yeah, with all respect to Tony, MacGuyver is the one that springs to mind in such situations.

Molevic: Curses, I locked them in a cave! With a pile of Scraps! ...On reflection I should have seen this coming.

Hair's too long...I meant long...and she hates boys, not robots.

Ugh, Tyler Kirkham seems to be trying to rip off Michael Turner.

I'm pretty sure I would buy a Mickey Mouse/Mythbusters slash comic if it was done by Stuart Immonen. <3
