The ComicBookResources has the preview of Wonder woman #24... the penultimate chapter of this alternative/contemporary retconned Diana.

(I know, it's already on the shelves at some stores).

And for bonus points, an action snapshot, too.

At the end of the last issue, Diana is left near death at the hands of the retconned Amazon's Giganta, Cheetah and Artemis. Her mind drifts, and she is given some insight by an unexpected ally with a new vision of her past.

I'll let the group discuss it.

And finally, Adrienne in action.

Red boots, yay!

This costume isn't spectacular, but it's miles better than the one in the earlier pictures.

My thoughts exactly. Now if they'd just tweak the show to be better.

Her pants no shiny no more!

They look kind of out of place now...

I think it's an improvement. I'm not crazy about the shiny, plastic-y bustier, but I could deal with it if at least the fake-metal trimmings weren't so blocky and cheap looking.

...Just when I think I'm done complaining, it turns out I still have more. :(

She still looks like she's gonna pop right out of that thing if she breathes too hard, but the boots and pants are an improvement.

As for the comic itself... I really, really see no need for any of the ret-con. At all.

I do like the blind thing, it brings to mind Athena and her eyeswap with WW after the EPIC Medusa showdown.

Seriously, if anything is quintessential Wonder Woman it is that Medusa smackdown and her public blinding. All Wonder Woman writers should be made to read that arc by mandate.

Do you think the blindness is supposed to symbolically emphasise Diana as a force of justice? I suppose it makes sense, but I've always thought of her as more connected to truth than anything else.

Indeed. She call every superhero she knows by their first name. She calls Booster Gold "Michael." She even calls Superman "Kal" when Clark *might* be more accurate (to Superman, at least).

my hope that the NeoDiana in this series right now is going to be a new character much like the Alex Hayden in Agent X. Everyone thinks who it is but in the end it isn't.

I would love to see it be that the real Diana is locked away and this new person frees her and we are granted a new champion. A new warrior to help round out some of the greek mythos.

Given that the WW title seems not to be sure what to do with people like Donna Troy, not sure what adding ANOTHER alt-Diana would benefit.

That seems almost TOO obvious, certainly this bloke here seems to be Dr Psycho, and Psycho affects perception, not memory IIRC.

Red boots! And no more shiny pants! Hooray!

I still won't be watching it, though. *shakes head* I know we should support our superheroines, but I just really don't wanna see a series about Insecure Sex-and-the-City-esque Diana.

I've read she basically has a wardrobe of costumes, including the original one(she just never wears it....until sweeps.)

1st scan, 3rd panel: "Your were born"?

Also, the 2nd scan, 5th panel ...:

That's one hell of a stare, lady.

(maybe I should have left in the "look without eyes and tell me - does this feel real?" to give it a more gutter-mind twist)

I have no idea what is happening in that comic.

The costume in the photo... well, I don't like the face she's making, but it is only a still? Boots and pants look way better, but the metal is still plasticky and that bodice is cheap and ill-fitting and just generally rubbish.

I'm a fan of Power Girl, I don't have problems with women dressing sexily or revealingly, but I cannot take anyone seriously if they wear that to engage in physical combat. It's not practical, and it shows, and I say this as someone who's worn plenty of corsets and been in swordfights while wearing them.

No, not at all. From what I gather, this is a trick played by Dr. Psycho, whom Diana does not recognise as her enemy.

On the one hand, yay dark, not shiny pants! Yay red boots! Yay no reddish-pink garish lipstick!

On the other hand, that bustier...I'm surprised the costume designer just didn't add straps or make the top a little higher. It's just asking for a wardrobe malfunction...Also, why didn't they use the same material for the bustier as they did the boots? It would look better.

If they make alterations to the bustier too and decide that viewers know plastic accessories when they see it, I will be a happy camper.

Hooo boy.....

And if this guy turns out to be JMS, I'm sure they'll be getting a call from Animal Man's lawyers.

I might be wrong, but I thought the whole nu-Diana was supposed to be an attempt at making her accessible to new readers. And if that is the case, how is adding a retcon on top of another retcon doing the job?

I still don't like the top, but I like the pants and I like the boots, and I like the actress.
Physically, she's perfect because she's tall but not too skinny. It's believable that she has strength.
Acting wise, from what I've seen, she can do confident and commanding pretty well.

Glad to see they made sure the costume was sufficiently drab, dark, and cluttered. Can't have those superheroes going around being bright and shiny.

I guess the comics are going to wrap up this elseworlds story. Can't wait to see which random handful of these roundly dreadful, uninteresting ideas get grafted onto the main character so I know which ones are at least meaningful enough to be annoyed by.

Hm... scans sound interesting, I will wait for more info before making a judgement.

As for the live-action costume... it's an improvement. That the trousers no longer look like bodypaint, the boots are red, and the accents don't quite appear to be plastic are all positives. On the other hand, why didn't they make the bodice the same material as the trousers? Additionally, said bodice either needs to go up a little higher, have straps, or both, else it will continue to look like a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen. And even though the metal looks vaguely like metal rather than plastic, the way it is cast makes it look cheap and tacky. If I hear word that they fixed the script, I may give it a shot if it airs on a channel that is in my cable package. If not, I won't be watching it, not because I dislike Diana but because I absolutely love the character when she has a decent writer and don't want to see her acting as though she just stepped off the set of Sex and the City or some such thing.

seriously guys, it's Doctor Psycho. He's at least partially manipulating the situation. I doubt he actually KNOWS her origins, so he's messing with her. if he's not the Force behind it, he is either involved, OR he's playing the whole "Enemy of my enemy" shtick
