The entire rosters of the Avengers alpha teams are trying to stop Parker Robbins, the Hood, from reassembling the Infinity Gauntlet.

Their efforts prove amusing.



But as people have been warning him throught the issue, Parker should give up the Infinity Gems before it destroys him.

The Hood manages to escape and capture another gem and frustrate the Avengers and assembled Illuminati.

Parker is about the find out the hard way why you don't go after stuff like the gems.

It tends to summon big bad scary things way out of his league.

When he had the Infinity Gauntlet he was the master of Death though, she did not embrace him as an equal (and thus worthy to be her lover) because whilst he had sought parity, he was actually now conceptually out of HER league.

They go back and forth. He's been her consort before for good swaths of time, but most of the time we see him onscreen they're fighting. Which sorta makes sense. When he and Lady Death are doing well, he's not going to hang around losers like most Marvel comic protagonists, now is he?

It's all being darkly majestic, and snarking it up at parties with the Endless and cross-dimensional versions of Eternity and whatnot.

There was a story in Endless Nights like that, where Dream and his family went to a party with the anthropomorphic aspects of a bunch of Stars and Galaxies. It was pretty great.

Yeah.

Dream had been enamored with a young sorceress from the planet Krypton, but the spirit of the star ( Rao ) managed to woo her away and bond with her, being the forebears of the Kryptonians who absorb sunlight for power.

Scorned and hurt, Dream turned to the weakest star attending the festivities, Sol with-the-nine-worlds, and chose him as his host/homeplanet to reside by.

Meh. As I've said elsewhere, Bendis just grabs any popular character or semi popular and throws them in his series with little logic or reason.

Also, given how Nebula was able to overwhelm all the cosmic beings, Hood really isn't in that much danger.

Reality, the one gaping plot hole of the reality gem. One of my favorite moments in this series was when he went to the Baxter Building and found Reds containment structure, and was like, "Wow, it would be really hard to get to that normally. But in REALITY, its all ready in my hand," and just used his gem to get it.

And then he forgets he can do that. Oh, I love comic books!

IIRC, the Reality game is a bit tricky: It's basically need the other gems supporting it (Power to feed it, mind to control it etc.) to work to it's full potential, unless you REALLY know what you're doing with it it's not that useful on it's own.

Also, the Soul Gem can be ued to disrupt the others, that's why it's so very bad.

Thanos Imperative wasn't really about dealing with Thanos, it was about Thanos dealing with a bunch of other shit.

The end of that comic was pretty much like "oh gosh they're totally gone for real this time definitely, uh, we guess".

Once again Bendis ignores continuity! I mean I loved his small Steve and Tony being the mom and dad team moment (and Avengers Prime) but shit like this makes me want him to stick to Ultimate Spider-Man and stay there.

Highly unlikely, methinks Bendis ignored everything in Thanos Imperative. Nova and Star-Lord won't be addressed unless Bendis or another writer want to use them.

Pisses me off because Cosmic Marvel is probably the best thing Marvel has gotten out.
