They're just using an effect (similar to the one used for Mr. Freeze's first DCAU appearance)_for his space helmet. You can see it in some panels, not in others . . .

I think it's less that they CAN laugh, it's what they laugh AT. I'm sure Doom has laughed at least once...

Cackle? Nah, Doom is screamingly operatic (Seriously, I've always said that anytime Doom appears, if in every picture he's in he doesn't look like he could break out into an aria at a moments notice, then they're not doing it right! :) )

I imagine him having a rather deep, booming, laugh.

Marvel Adventures FF #25 where Johnny goes reality-hopping. One of the realities is a musical world although the gist of it is shown on that page.

The difference is that Lex mainly wants Superman out of his way, proving he's better being secondary--he'd be fine with it if Supes just vanished. Doom, I think, could not FUNCTION without his vendetta against that fool Richards.

Grodd, Savage, now Brainiac.. an appreciable chunk of Lex's brilliance in the Black Ring really boils down to "I got you!/No you didn't/Oh crap.", doesn't it?

(OK, maybe the Secret Six tie-in mitigates Savage a bit, but still.)

Wait...where is that implication? The closest I can find is his mention of putting Superman's 'disciples' into a 'spacetime trap' and presumably catching Superman in it, too, but that doesn't really seem to mesh with what's going on in RoD. The Outsiders and JLA parts, anyway - Steel's self-contained enough, but JLA seems to be tying it in with the Eclipso stuff, and Outsiders (which I haven't read in forever, except for this and the Bruce Wayne: The Road Home one-shot) seems to be part of an ongoing plot, as well.

Yeah, that was pretty much it; Steel's evidently in 900, and Doomsday ran off with him, so..

But then I read the CBR Cornell interview, apparently making the tie-in indirect, so it probably is just a spacetime trap.

Either that, or Steel's been bounced between captors.

It looks like Robot!Lois administered those nanites via a cut on Lex's head. So why would they need to wait for him to be dangled upside-down for a "rush of blood to the head" to enter his brain, if they were already there?

The blood vessels are all one-way streets. By the time the blood gets to the skin around the head, it's not going to the brain until it takes another trip back to the heart.

Still wouldn't need hanging upside down to cause a blood rush to the brain, would it? I'd think the whole supply circulates through it in well under a minute no matter how you're positioned or what you're doing.
