Whatever Happened to Crusher Hogan?

So in light of the recent Tangled Web post, I figured I'd post an earlier story by Tom DeFalco showing what happened to Crusher after Spider-Man defeated him. It's from Amazing Spider-Man #271 and is illustrated by Ron Frenz.






So basically Bobby isn't going to renew his wrestling contract and is going to sign with someone else. The gym owner Madame Fang and her enforcer Manslaughter Marsdale in return plan to hurt Bobby--or worse. Hogan overhears their plan and doesn't take it too well.







So there's an extended battle between Spidey and Manslaughter. Hogan attempts to help out his hero but he is knocked aside with ease. Manslaughter is able to hold his own against Spidey but in the end proves to be no match for the webslinger.

With the latter implied to have beat the living shit out of the former, of all things.

It's another example of why we can't have nice things in the Marvel universe. If someone has a happy ending, it's only a matter of time before someone brings them back just to fuck them over.

Bobby was beat up anyway, not killed. Chances are they will have Bobby have a comeback later, they've done that in the past.

Obviously, he let his hair grow, grew a Fu-Mancu 'stache, bleached the crap out of them, shot him self up with enough steroids to kill a sperm whale, dropped the "Crusher" in favor of "Hulk", joined the WWF, and sold out.
