Greetings True Believers!
What's nice about being an Avenger?
Ask Spidey!
Peter is fighting a Mandrill-controlled Spider-Woman while Madam Web and Shang-Chi look on.
Apparently Peter has lost his Spidey-Sense and his fighting style has suffered. But he manages to defeat Mandrill and now time for the clean-up.

Ha.
Shang-Chi offers to train Spidey. Montage time. In preparation for the whole "Island of Spiders" thing.
After teaching him some skillz, He begins to help Spidey develop a martial arts form based around his powers. "The Way of the Spider".
I'm assuming it's like, "Punch, punch, kick, web, kick, banter! banter!"

Date: 2011-05-09 09:20 pm (UTC)That reminds me of the Wildstorm/DC crossover. Captain Atom helps The Engineer of the Authority save a plane in distress. She says virtually the same thing.
He's shocked by the level of contempt the heroes have for the people there.

Date: 2011-05-10 05:22 am (UTC)But I never particularly got the feeling any hero in the WSU was meant to hate the people, or at least they weren't meant to originally. The Wildcats, especially in the more corporate iterations, are meant to be making the world safer. The Authority might be more proactive, but they never despised the people they were saving. That Jim Lee decided to publish that series with a writer who had never touched the WSU before speaks volumes - As does the fact that the Wildstorm Universe was basically fucked after that series.
