What's nice about being an Avenger?
Ask Spidey!
Peter is fighting a Mandrill-controlled Spider-Woman while Madam Web and Shang-Chi look on.
Apparently Peter has lost his Spidey-Sense and his fighting style has suffered. But he manages to defeat Mandrill and now time for the clean-up.
Ha.
Shang-Chi offers to train Spidey. Montage time. In preparation for the whole "Island of Spiders" thing.
After teaching him some skillz, He begins to help Spidey develop a martial arts form based around his powers. "The Way of the Spider".
I'm assuming it's like, "Punch, punch, kick, web, kick, banter! banter!"

But I bet with the whole Batman INC thing the whole Batfamily just tells them to send the bill to Mr. Wayne XD.

Then, it was the Nostalgia Critic from That Guy With the Glasses, who said: "The next time you're in the middle of an argument with someone, just say out of nowhere, 'I WAS FROZEN, TODAY!'"
And now, thanks to this comic, when you know you're about to lose the argument, or whenever you find yourself getting caught doing something you shouldn't have and you're short on cash, just yell out "I AM AN AVENGER!" and your accuser or opponent will instantly change his or her mind, say whatever you're doing is a-okay and think you're a swell guy. :-P

Date: 2011-05-08 07:36 pm (UTC)In the manga Battle Angel Alita (which I highly recommend, by the way) there's was character who uses van der waals forces to adhere to surfaces. Her entire fighting style (which was based on Ba Gua, by the way) revolved around sticking a part of her self to her opponent and then manipulating their movements, getting them into position to hit their vitals or just throwing them.
I remember thinking that if Spider-Man knew kung-fu, this is how he would fight.
Anybody know what I'm talking about? If not, I can try posting scans from the issue in question.
