Ok, it took me a while to figure out what exactly I was seeing, but now that I do. Wow.
ComicBookResources.com has the interview with editor Seve Wacker.

there is more interview content behind the cut but this...

... this needed to be posted to behold poetry in motion.

While the marriage may not be back (yet), I am proud to say the Amazing part has.

Holy.....

Now while the story may be convoluted, but if we get art like this, I am in.

If we could get art of the post-OMD era's caliber with writing of the JMS/Jenkins era's caliber, I would be so happy.

YES. I've said many times that if there is one great thing during the BND era, it was all the amazing artists that were put on the title.

Modern Spider-Man is so much better when you don't have to put up with the writing...

Those way-too-long belts must be a severe hindrance in this style of fighting.

Honestly, I'm still not sure what direction they're going in that fight--just that it went all across the room.

Dude, Peter should totally get together with Dick Grayson for a Flips-and-Shit competition. Hot damn I keep forgetting how much I enjoy great comic book art.

It's a good thing they devildivorced Spidey from Mary Jane, eliminating the long-standing barrier the marriage posed towards Spider-Man learning kung-fu.

Spider-man sparring shirtlessly with a hot asian man you mean.

Although MJ would probably enjoy watching that.

Honestly if this had been their reason for having to do OMBND it would have at least been interesting, and in that respect very slightly better than "we need to pair him up in a succession of alternately boring / awkward / creepy / racist heteronormative relationships".

Does Spiderman really need ot learn kung0fu? Do we really need to go through this? It was nice that Spiderman was a hero that didn't rely on martial arts.

This this this! It was cool when the martial arts-based superheroes were the only people who were actually good at martial arts. It seems like now every comic book hero has had some intensive martial arts training.

I'm going to disagree with this, when you are doing something that involves a lot of hand to hand combat like superheroics the first thing you should do is learn how to fight. It'd be incredibly stupid not to.

As awesome as that above page is, I can't help but agree with you on this one. I love some martial arts based stuff and seeing a fight that's practically a martial arts clinic but yea, like a Spider-Man who relied on brilliance.

Let's Play name the technique

"While the marriage may not be back (yet), I am proud to say the Amazing part has."

Yeah--while there are some...strange moments, I think Big Time's done a decent job at bringing back more of the intelligent crime-fighter that I've known and loved my whole life. :)

As awesome as this page is it is tainted by the fact that Peter still sold his marriage to the Devil. Thats just not something a hero should do without going full on Anakin Skywalker or Parallax.

If they still feel strongly about the marriage they could still undo the deal and keep them apart. Have them remember the deal, fix the problems with Mephisto with some proper superheroics and then have MJ walk off saying that if he was willing to sell their lives to the devil it's best they not be together. Best of both worlds.

I always enjoy when OMBNDMITIME swings away from being actively terrible, giving me the chance to point out that at its best, it's still just a particularly boring, pointless what-if and that none of what's more or less okay about it couldn't have been done at least as well with the actual, more-interesting, married version of the character.

It's certainly pretty, but I can't follow this at all.

(I really hope this doesn't turn into a "Western man learns kung-fu in a week, is inexplicably better than others who have been training their whole life" story)

Gorgeous spread, though is it bad for me that the last panel face instantly translates to "oooh, hot"?
