The Evolutionaries story arc begins here. A forgotten threat from the X-men's past returns to see how mutants have fared, and are not happy about the state of things. Especially the threats to said mutants.


Scott is dreaming about Jean Grey, and a fight they had in the past. He wakes up, with Emma trying to keep him from stressing out. Why would Cyclops stress out? Their island Utopia is under attack..... again.

(must be Tuesday).

The Neo have returned, trying to find out why for the past year they can hump like rabbits and there are no more Neo babies, but mutants have returned with the Five Lights.

The Neo Guardian clan is overwhelming most of the mutants on Utopia, and as Cyclops enters the fray, he flashes back to the first encounter with Magneto and the Brotherhood, oh so long ago. Their first encounter with Sentinels. Forgotten by young Brotherhood and X-men alike, this is when the Evolutionaries presented themselves to the Children of the Atom.

Their encounter with the Evolutionaries in the past now affects the present, specifically, the conflict between the mutant and Neo species.





With the threat neutralized, the Evolutionaries reveal their purpose. To ensure mutantkind survives, homo sapiens must be eliminated.

Also= one scene Mags and Storm are practically cuddling, the next they are at opposite ends of the room??

I choose to interpret Magneto's expression in the first scene as: "Oh no, they've seen us! Quick, Storm, seperate and act natural! (Before Rogue finds out) "

For context, there was also a shot of prehistoric earth where early homo sapiens were saved from being murdered as newborns, by the Evolutionaries.

They were the Next Big Threat to the mutants, (humans -> mutants -> Neo), going to replace them. They were created 10 years ago and are now no more.

Okay is it wrong that it makes me laugh that Yost brought back the Neo for the first time in years only to kill them in that same issue? Classic Yost.

I don't think the island gets attacked because it's "Utopia", I think it gets attacked because it's the mutant island. If it was called "Xavier's school for gifted youngsters" it would be attacked just as much.

The Evolutionairies are entirely new right? They're a mixture of the Sentry or perhaps Cable when he was first introduced and Celestials and they think this is a good idea.

How many types of human are there? We've got Namor's people,The Inhumans,deviants,eternals,Tigra's cat people,werewolves,sort of werewolves,all kinds of vampires, children of the vault, three kinds of New Atlanteans,Moliniods,Lava men,and I remember some super evolved yetis in an issue of Fantastic Four. Also aparently Wolverine is decended from a whole race of ferals that evolved from wolves.
Am I missing any?


Thats all groups there. Full sociteies. Why are the X-Men going it alone? They have the Atlanteans on their side so bring in some others.
