Just to note: We have been told only to accept news from ACTUAL DC sources, so take these with a pinch of salt, yeah?
Comicbook Resources.com has some news about the new titles coming out in September,

" A new title starring Superman written by Grant Morrison.

Birds of Prey #1 - This new ongoing series will not feature the work of longtime "BoP" writer Gail Simone. In fact, many tried and true approaches to books will be getting a second look at DC in September.

Teen Titans #1 - The new start for the teen team will be written by "Red Robin" scribe Fabian Nicieza. UPDATE: Nicieza has come out publicly saying he is not writing the Titans, however the other consistent word CBR News has heard is that writer Scott Lobdell will be involved with the franchise. Either way, expect to see many old friends from DC Editor-in-Chief Bob Harras' Marvel days working on DC's new books.

Justice Society of America #1 - Only one of a number of current titles that will welcome a creative team shift, the future of the original superhero team will apparently not involve current writer Marc Guggenheim.

Wonder Woman #1 - Don't expect the recent changes from writer J. Michael Straczynski to stick when the Amazing Amazon sees another new #1 hit.

Green Lantern #1 - Even with a new #1, Green Lantern remains in Johns' hands, and readers can expect the effects of major crossovers like "Blackest Night" to stay in place moving forward.

Hawkman #1 - While fans have known a "Hawkman" series by James Robinson has been in the works since the writer mentioned it on a panel at New York Comic Con, Bleeding Cool's Rich Johnston has been reporting the rumor that the book will be drawn by "Batman & Robin" and "Outsiders" artist Philip Tan.

Aquaman #1 - No surprises here. The already announced series featuring the sea king by Johns and Ivan Reis will be part of the relaunch wave."

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=32566

Heard a rumour, just a rumour mind you, that the reason why Birds of Prey might not necessarily be in the same format as before might be because Barbara is becoming Batgirl again. Though, that is just a rumour.

Oh, and look! Wonder Woman is getting ANOTHER reboot. As it Aquaman. I wonder if they keep the kinda Namorish approach they seem to have in Flashpoint.

Oh, and speaking of Rumours...
http://www.bleedingcool.com/2011/05/31/flashpost-the-hooking-up-of-superman-and-wonder-woman/

Flashpoint ends with Lois and Clark's marriage being erased by Barry messing with the timeline! And he gets together with Wonder Woman!

The writer of the article admits that that particular rumour is more than a little stupid, was interested in what you lot had to say. I know that I have a joke in mind, though I'm going to put in the strip I'm working. Heh.

For legality, the full-sized JLA picture,

EDIT: What the heck's going on with Vic's chin? Can it shoot lasers?

Well, this is pretty much the sum total of yesterday's discussion and sources. The thing that still keeps me fearing quite a lot is mainly the fact that Superman up there looks a lot more like the Superman:Earth One version of itself; which might indicate the kind of canon towards which they're moving their characters.

The thing is, DC have supposedly already got JMS cranking out another volume of the Superman: Earth One books, given the other one was such a success. I don't think they'd put Grant Morrison on Superman - And that seems especially likely, given the kind of passion Morrison has for Superman - and let him clash with JMS over it.

As DC themselves have stated, this apparently isn't meant to be a hard reboot, and more cherry-picking what works and refitting what doesn't, so a lot of old continuity should still be in place. Unfortunately, what works and what doesn't has to fit the unfortunate biases of Didio, Johns and Lee.

It's almost like Emerald Twilight, Identity Crisis and Countdown weren't enough - DC really wants to alienate their old readers and make them go to Marvel, don't they?

I mean I remember back during New Krypton saga when someone asked Greg Rucka if Superman being off-planet for so long with females of his own species was going to do damage to the C/L marriage and Rucka simply replied: "They're married. This isn't Marvel." Which allayed all doubts.

I guess in the end though DC IS Marvel after all.

The thing is, as much as people complain, OMD didn't damage Spider-Man that much, especially sales-wise. I wish it did, since it would force Marvel to put things back to normal, but since a lot of people kept on reading, it hasn't really done much damage to the book.

And given Rucka's leaving DC last and the timing and preparation of this - He pretty much abandoned his Nightwing and Flamebird, and Batwoman work to do creator owned stuff - it makes you wonder if the post-Flashpoint world's been in the making a lot longer than we thought, and that's what contributed to Rucka leaving...

I'm curious about these leaks. The folks at DC are working so hard at keeping the details hush-hush that they even had everyone sign NDAs. Now, the comic industry isn't really that big a place, and everyone seems to know everyone else, so I can't imagine anyone leaking such information *not* realizing there's a decent chance they'll get caught. It makes me wonder if DC isn't deliberately spreading misinformation to throw rumor columnists off its scent, which I admit I'd find hilarious.

Which, if true... well, I'd have to overlook pretty much any other flaws in Flashpoint.

Okay, if Gail were doing WW, I'd consider it.

I was hoping to start picking up Batgirl once the same-day digital goes into effect, but the rumour that Babs will be the one in the costume worries me. I won't be buying it if that's the case.

I'm wondering if Power Girl will still have her own book, or even still exist.

I am happy to see the BN canon sticks around, but other than that, I am disappointed. I don't want Babs to be Batgirl. I want her to be Oracle.

On the plus side, I'm still liking Cyborg's new look. He look's like an actual cyborg, and not a guy in a leotard pretending to be one.

No way they're going to make Lois and Clark marriage thing not happen... at least permanently... OMD was such a fail in the comic book world, at least DC is having that change instead of the entire universe instead of just on the personal life of one character of the said universe...

If Flashpoint is the source of the reboot, and the Batman uniform looks so much like Dick's (in spite of the rumor of a new Nightwing book) is it possible that Bruce stays dead is the reboot...?

It's just going to be a summer of people stirring stuff up, which DC is no doubt encouraging, because there's nothing worse than people NOT talking about you. I only pick up Superboy, Batgirl, Batman Inc, and the occasional JLA, so this news annoys me, in that it immediately affects the JLA, while, by implication (the NEW younger icons!) doesn't bode well for my other choices. Oh, well, it'll save me money, as I'll be down to Marvel's Alpha Flight.

If the Lois/Clark erasure turns out to be a rumor (or not what it seems, like, they'll be back together at the end of the year-long thing or something), I swear to god I will take back everything I ever said about DC. Sure, I'm not keen on the reboot, and I'm doubly disappointed that they're alienating me too since Marvel and I haven't been speaking to each other for ages, but having the savvy and respect to realize what a dick move that would be will make me at least glumly indifferent rather than bitterly crushed at everything they're planning.

And you know Greg Rucka's deliciously satisfying quote, "They're married. This is not Marvel."? I actually used to think that was a stab at Marvel, but now it's coming out as an accidental compliment. Whatever idiotic stuff Marvel comes out with, they have deep respect for the presence of universe's 50 years of history (even if they crap on that history a lot), and they move forward, developing and adding to it (badly sometimes, but still). DC doesn't develop in stupid directions like, say, out-of-character divorces. Oh no, they just retroactively change things so they don't need to bother with any character development at all, so things detailed in thousands of issues over a period of two decades just never happened (my criticisms do not apply to COIE itself btw, but it opened up the door for a ridiculous amount of retconning).

Maybe that's why I hated OMD so much — it was a profoundly DC-esque dick move, which felt incredibly out of place and therefore much worse in the Marvel Universe, whose dick moves usually just consist of character derailment and bad logic.

It also says something that out of the Big 2 it is Marvel with Sue and Reed in FF who have the #1 (loving and secure) super-hero marriage now. DC used to have Clark/Lois, Ralph/Sue, Barda/Scott, both versions of Hawkman/Hawkgirl (prior to Zero Hour), Inza/Kent Nelson etc. and if this reboot rumor is a reality DC will undo it ALL (except maybe the Flashes - because Johns loves them).

In that I thought she came into her own as a superhero and a support system (in the odd BOP trades I've read) instead of a second rate Batgirl. In that, she doesn't have Cain's skills or Stephanie's well... lighter outlook (again, casual reader of DC, don't mind me).

It would be a step back making Barbara not Oracle any more.

Absolutely. Sure, she got fridged, but seriously? She was twenty times more powerful and important to the superhero community as Oracle than she was as Batgirl. And she was a very, very unique figure to boot. Plus, the idea of unparalyzing a person with a retcon leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Isn't the whole "new century" crap supposed to be at least partly about diversity? Babs did amazing as a disabled character. I hope it's just a rumor.

Batman Inc, the wonder woman reboot, Blackest Night/Brightest Day, Search for swamp thing, too many things that DC has been leading up to to just WIPE IT ALL OUT... i call shenanigans. the very fact that this will come as a result of Barry messing with time should be the clue. maybe we find out he actually needs to stay dead... i don't know, but things are not adding up...

So the silver on that Wonder Woman costume makes me think this isn't Diana but rather Donna.
